Intruders who broke into Dele Alli’s £ 2 million mansion before stealing his watch and jewelery at knifepoint are believed to have evaded his security guard who remains on premises at all times.
Two thieves armed with knives hit English star Dele, 24, in the face after breaking into his house around 12:30 on Wednesday morning, while playing pool with his girlfriend Ruby Mae and brother Harry.
They hit the Tottenham midfielder and his brother in the face before leaving with jewelry and three watches worth £ 350,000.
It is unclear why the security guard was unaware of the two intruders who confronted the footballer after entering from the rear of the house, The Telegraph reported.
Dele was seen walking away from his North London mansion this morning.
His model girlfriend Ruby was later seen behind the wheel of another vehicle.
Police officers are searching for the thugs who escaped with the watches and jewelry.
Dele was in a ground floor room with his longtime partner Ruby, Harry, Harry’s girlfriend, and another male friend when the masked bandits stormed in.
They beat Dele and attacked another man after demanding that the frightened group hand over valuables.
A suspect ran upstairs and ransacked several of the star’s rooms.
A source told The Sun last night: “The group has been extremely shocked.
“Dele was still awake and playing pool with the others when the invaders entered the property.
“It all started down and Dele was hit in the mouth by one of the two masked thieves.
“One of Dele’s friends tried to return. He was also beaten.
“After stealing two expensive watches from Dele, one of the thieves prowled the stairs and took some jewelry.”
Last night, the Spurs star took to Twitter to reassure fans after the news.
He wrote, “Thanks for all the messages. Horrible experience, but we are all fine now. I appreciate the support.”
‘Terrible test’
Dele and his injured friend did not require hospital treatment.
But sources confirmed that they were understandably traumatized by the shocking night robbery.
Another source close to Dele said: “It was a terrible experience.
“The two men who broke in had knives.
“They took items and demanded that Dele deliver things.
“Dele was there with his girlfriend, Harry and his girlfriend, and with another man living there together, so there were some of them there at the time.
“They called the police and spent several hours there collecting statements and CCTV from the property.”
It all started and Dele was hit in the mouth by one of the thieves.
A fountain
Police believe the £ 150,000 a week player could have been deliberately targeted by the thieves.
Officers stayed at the house until nearly dawn yesterday after the armed raid.
The teams were searching for images from Dele’s external cameras for clues.
The Barnet property is close to the M25, and the couple are feared to have left the area extremely quickly, especially with so little traffic during closure.
Dele has been isolating himself in the closed house with Ruby and her three friends, including foster brother Harry. The couple is said to be extremely close and Harry also acts as Dele’s agent.
The Met Police said: “The police were called at approximately 00:35 on Wednesday May 13 to receive reports of a robbery at a residential address.
“Two men entered the property and stole jewelry, including watches, before fleeing.
“Two male occupants on the property suffered minor facial injuries after being mugged.
“They did not require hospital treatment. There have been no arrests. Investigations into the circumstances continue. “
The raid comes just two months after four masked robbers armed with knives and machetes broke into Spurs teammate Jan Vertonghen’s home in Hampstead, north London.
The gang terrorized his wife and young family as the Belgian defender played in a Champions League match in Germany with Tottenham.
Aces are the target of the assailants
DELE Alli is the most recent soccer figure to have been stolen or stolen.
More than £ 1 million in valuables was stolen from the London home of the late Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
The thieves escaped with £ 60,000 worth of jewelry and watches from the home of Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.
Former England defender Ashley Cole, 39, was attacked by thieves before they left with jewelry.
In January, at least £ 500,000 of valuables were stolen from Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho, 30.
Dele was adopted by Harry’s family, the Hickmans, and the brothers started together as amateur footballers.
A source said: “They are brothers and you cannot have two closer brothers. They have been locked up in isolation with their companions and another friend during the confinement.
“This was the last thing any of them expected to happen.
“Obviously, watches and jewelry were worth thousands of pounds.
“But they also had sentimental value and cannot be replaced in that regard.” The source said security at the home would be tightened.
House robberies of mega-rich stars in the Premier League have become commonplace in recent years.
Many players have been forced to close access and strengthen camera networks.
Security for high-profile footballers is now a small industry in itself, with many of them protecting themselves with 24-hour guards and even trained dogs.
However, crime has plummeted by more than a third in the capital during the shutdown.
The house where Dele lives is close to the highway network and the source said: “Unfortunately, the thieves could have come from anywhere. No one knows if Dele was specifically targeted or if he was the victim of burglars who housed houses in the area.
“But it is troubling that this occurs after Jan’s family home was burglarized and raises troubling questions.”
Dele’s official spokeswoman had no comment on the incident.
Police appealed to anyone with information to contact them via 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD185 / 13May.
