Death of ‘lovely lady’ with ‘dry sense of humor’ leaves neighbors in shock

The death of a “lovely lady” with a “dry sense of humor” has devastated her neighbors.

Emergency services were called to Dereham Crescent, in Fazakerley, around 9 am Tuesday after neighbors discovered a woman lying in the street.

She had suffered serious injuries and paramedics were dispatched to help before she was taken to hospital.

Tragically, the woman in her 60s died shortly after when police cordoned off the area to begin their investigation.

The woman’s death is being treated as “unexplained” by officers who were still at the scene 24 hours after she was found.

As forensics continued to work on the scene, tributes began to flow on social media to the woman.

On Facebook, Keeley Leary posted a moving message about the woman he met in the area.

She said, “I’m going to miss our little talks and walk back from school together.

“Such a lovely lady with such a funny and dry sense of humor.

“She used to make me laugh.

“I am absolutely heartbroken for the family.

Others posted about how sad the incident was and shared their condolences with the woman’s family.

Claire Murray said, “May you rest in peace, thinking of the whole family and everyone who knew her.”

Merseyside police confirmed the news in a statement Tuesday night, explaining that the woman’s relatives had been informed.

A spokesman for the force said: “We can confirm that detectives are investigating the unexplained death of a woman in Fazakerley today, Tuesday, September 8.”

“At around 9 am, officers were called to Dereham Crescent to report that a woman in her 60s had been found with serious injuries.

“She was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where unfortunately she was declared dead shortly after.

“Investigations are underway to establish the circumstances, and his death is currently treated as unexplained.”
