Diego Maradona’s eldest daughter said today to her father ‘see you soon’ in his first emotional tribute since his death on Wednesday.
Actress Dalma Maradona, 33, one of the soccer legend’s two children with his ex-wife Claudia Villafane, posted a poignant photo of her stuffing a daisy into her father’s soccer socks as a child.
In the caption she wrote: ‘I always feared my own death, but not now … because I know that will be the moment when I will see you and hug you again.
‘I already miss you daddy. I’m going to endure here, without that piece of my heart that you took away. ‘

Ms. Maradona was one of the coffin bearers at Thursday’s funeral and is the mother of a 20-month-old daughter named Roma with her husband Andrés Caldarelli.
She added: ‘I will love you and defend you all my life because I appreciate the life we share together.
“I’m devastated, but I’m going to get through.”
Referring to a famous song called ‘Como es el’ by Spanish composer José Luis Perales, he wrote: ‘Wait for me there. We will see us again.
‘I’m going to practice “Y como es el” so that when we meet we can sing it together again. Well, you’ll sing it really well and I’ll yell it out.
She revealed that her daughter Roma already loved her grandfather and would miss his video calls, adding: ‘If your granddaughter wants to video call you like in the past, I’m going to die inside, but rest assured that I do.’ I will tell you exactly who you were, who you are, and who you will be forever.

Maradona’s younger sister Giannina was previously with Manchester City star Sergio Agüero and they have an 11-year-old son named Benjamin.
Giannina has yet to make any public comment since her father’s death at his rented home near Buenos Aires.
He passed away in his sleep, less than a month after his 60th birthday, around noon on Wednesday. His death has been attributed to heart failure causing pulmonary edema.
