Dean Henderson reacted quickly to his “dream” debut at Manchester United after a late save from the goalkeeper helped the Red Devils enter the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
With United leading 1-0 at Luton via a Juan Mata penalty, Henderson had to make a nice late save from Hatters and Wales defender Tom Lockyer to keep his team ahead, with Lockyer rebounding and then cleared from the line by Eric Bailly.
United substitutes Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood came off the bench to lead the score to 3-0 in the later stages, and the score favored the visitors a bit.
However, Henderson was delighted with the victory, tweeting after the game: “I’ve dreamed of this my whole life !! Amazing feeling to debut with the club I love !! Clean sheet and a clean sheet! victory to top it off !!! “

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised Henderson after the game, although he also made a seemingly sharp reference to current number one David De Gea.
“Well, passing is the most important thing,” Solskjaer said.
“There are some positives, the goalkeeper does his job, we scored some nice goals towards the end, apart from that it was good training.
“That’s probably the job our goalkeepers have to do sometimes, you have to make saves when necessary and David [de Gea] he’s done that for years and Dean has done it today. “

Striker Mata also made reference to the stoppage and added: “It was very important because it was 1-0.
“He made a great save and someone also cleared the ball on the line.
