David Luiz and Willian welcomed compatriot Gabriel Magalhaes to Arsenal after his departure from Lille.
The 22-year-old defender completed his £ 27 million transfer on Tuesday after the Gunners won a three-way battle with Napoli and Everton for his signing.
After days of waiting, Arsenal finally confirmed Gabriel’s arrival, and Luiz and Willian were directly on the phone to speak with their new teammate.
The South American trio shared a video call that was posted on Arsenal’s official website, where Luiz even joked that Gabriel might move in with Willian.
Gabriel answered the call and said, “I used to see you only in video games, but now it’s real.”

Luiz jokingly replied, “Are you calling me old?” before offering a few words of comfort to the young man.
“We are delighted to have you, another great friend, another great player,” Luiz said. “I’m sure Arsenal made the right decision and so did you.
“I know it is not easy, especially at a young age like you, sometimes the fear or anxiety of not knowing what is coming can change things but you can be sure that everyone here at Arsenal will welcome you with open arms. and they will help you in the best way. ” A possible way out.

Gabriel was wearing a yellow Arsenal training shirt that the club had already sent him and replied: “I am very happy to be here with you. I just want to share that with you. Let’s make it count.
“I can’t wait. We’re going to win trophies. We’re off to a good start!”
Luiz then joked, “If you haven’t found a house yet, you can stay at Willian’s!”
To which Gabriel replied: “If you invite me I will come!”
