Dad and two sons found dead in terror shooting at family farm

A father and two sons have been found dead after a terror shooting on a family farm.

A massive police presence has invaded the cottage in Co Cork in Ireland after the shooting, with two rifles and a shotgun found at the scene.

The body of one of the sons, described as in his 20s, was found in a bedroom in the country house.

The bodies of his father, in his 50s, and his brother, also in his 20s, were found half a kilometer away in a field, reports the Irish Mirror.

Gardai (Irish Police) have been present at the property in Assolas, Kanturk, since 6.30am, after reports of a shooting came in.

Irish police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident

Gardai was reported to have been alerted to the scene after a neighbor heard gunshots.

Other reports indicate that a woman in her 60s raised the alarm this morning, showed up at a neighbor’s house, looked distressed and said there had been a shooting at her family’s home.

The negotiators attempted to contact anyone in the house. However, after 1 p.m., the son’s body was found in a bedroom in Assolas’s home, Kanturk.

Later, the body of another man in his 20s and a man in his 50s were found in the adjacent lands after an aerial search.

Gardai has sealed off the area with a major ongoing investigation.

Three bodies have been discovered after a terror shooting in Cork this afternoon. A Garda spokesperson said: “Both locations have been declared crime scenes and An Garda Síochána has begun a full investigation of all the circumstances of the incident under the direction of a senior investigating officer.

“The state pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau have been contacted and are on their way to both scenes.

“A family liaison officer has been appointed and an incident room has been established in Kanturk.

“A Garda Síochána is not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident at this time.

“A Garda Síochána is appealing to anyone who may have information that may assist in the investigation of the incidents that occurred this morning to contact the investigating Garda at Mallow Garda station 022 31450, the confidential Garda line 1800 666 111 or at any Garda station. “

RTE reports that the woman in her 60s raised the alarm this morning and Gardai was told that there were three men in the house and that one of them may have suffered gunshot wounds.

Upon arrival, they told police that more shots had been heard locally.

Local police and other emergency services called for reinforcements after arriving at the lodge, and the Cork City Armed Response Unit was one of the first to arrive.

The Dublin Emergency Response Unit then arrived in an Air Corps helicopter, while hostage negotiators were brought in if necessary.

Officers began their critical response to firearm incidents, and negotiators attempted to contact anyone on the property during the morning.

It wasn’t until after 1:00 p.m. M. That the police decided it was safe to enter the property after an appraisal was conducted, where they made the terror find before an aerial search revealed the other two bodies on adjacent lands around 1.40 p.m. M.

A full investigation has been initiated and the state pathologist and the Garda Technical Office will visit both locations.

There are curbs around the isolated farm, allegedly on the outskirts of Kanturk in North Cork, and on the surrounding roads.
