Cyberpunk 2077 patch addresses search bugs, glitches and more • Eurogamer.net

CD Projekt has released a patch for Cyberpunk 2077 that addresses a number of search bugs and glitches.

Hotfix 1.05, which weighed in at 17,358GB for me playing on PlayStation 5 via backward compatibility, is now available on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, and will be available for PC soon.

There is a long list of quest fixes. On the game side, NPCs taking cover have improved reaction time. There are a few visual fixes, including this curious tweak: “V looks more modest in the inventory preview after the half year build;)”

I’m not entirely sure what this is about, but I’m assuming there was a bug with how V first appears in inventory at this point in the game, perhaps without any gear equipped?

Can Cyberpunk 2077 be saved on PS4 and Xbox One? It’s Eurogamer’s next-gen news cast!

CD Projekt also mentions multiple stability improvements, including crash fixes. And here’s an interesting one: off-screen explosions are making noise now. Makes me wonder how many explosions I didn’t know were happening within earshot.

On the PC side, CD Projekt has removed the debug console “to avoid features that could cause crashes or crashed missions.” “This doesn’t mean that we don’t want to support the modding community,” emphasized CD Projekt. “Stay tuned for more information on that.”

It’s on the console that Cyberpunk 2077 needs the most work, of course, and there are some console-specific improvements. Here is the list:

  • Improved image sharpness with Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain enabled.
  • Settings should no longer be reset to default after restarting multiple game sessions.
  • Fixed visual issues that occurred during the transition between The Heist and Love Like Fire.
  • Fixed the appearance of various vehicles.
  • [Xbox] Going into combat while Synaptic Accelerator is active no longer ends up on the player’s health bar not showing.
  • [Xbox] The game no longer stops responding when logging out of a profile when the controller disconnect message is visible.
  • The telemetry consent request will appear once again due to a previous problem with resetting settings.
  • Fixed an issue where it was possible to fall down the elevator shaft in Megabuilding H8 in Automatic Love.

So there are a lot of fixes, but there is still a long way to go before Cyberpunk 2077 is in the state it should be in, and perhaps where it should be before Sony leaves it for sale on the PlayStation Store again. There is no information, for example, about frame rate and resolution improvements on the console in this patch. Cross your fingers, the game is less prone to crash, now I still have a strong crash once every two hours on PS5. CD Projekt has promised two big patches, one in January and the other in February 2021.
