Ministers have endorsed the shared goal of introducing a limited period during Christmas that will allow families to reunite and bubble with a small number of friends and family, as the coronavirus pandemic continues.
The Cabinet Office said the goal was agreed after discussions with the devolved administrations during the weekend. Prime Minister Boris Johnson will lay the groundwork for the plans on Monday, but will not be able to provide details until a later date, according to the Palestinian Authority news agency.
Johnson will also announce that the current national lockdown on England will come to an end as planned on December 2, only for the country to revert to a “hardened” three-tier system, similar to what existed before the lockdown.
However, the Prime Minister may face a revolt from conservative MPs who have warned him that they would not support such a move without scientific evidence. Around 70 Conservative MPs are said to have signed a letter demanding a cost-benefit analysis to show that the restrictions “will save more lives than they cost.”

What will be the restrictions in the new 3-tier system?
Tomorrow Boris Johnson is due to announce more details of the new three-tier restriction system that will take effect from December 2. But what will they be?
While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, the levels are believed to be more difficult than they were before the lockdown, although some of the previous restrictions will be removed.
The prime minister is expected to announce that the pub’s “curfew” from 10 pm will move to 11 pm.
However, ministers are said to be considering limiting pubs in Level 3 areas to takeout services, while Level 2 pubs will only be able to serve alcohol with a “substantial meal.”
Another proposal being rolled out is that gyms and “nonessential” stores will be allowed to remain open on all three levels, giving Main Street a boost in what is typically its busiest period.

Priest fined € 1,500 for celebrating Sunday Mass despite coronavirus lockdown

Police disrupted service in a northern Greek village and also arrested the priest’s 30-year-old son and one of the two worshipers, who said they attacked the officers.
The priest had been urging people to attend Mass, saying: “Either you are with Christ or the coronavirus”. The two assistants were from a neighboring town.

How do Brits feel about domestic Christmas bubbles?
News that ministers are backing the introduction of “limited additional household bubbling” to allow a small number of family and friends to gather over Christmas for a limited number of days has been widely shared on social media.
Brits have taken to social media to voice their opinions and questions about the idea, which could see a temporary amnesty from social mixing restrictions during the festive period.
Foreign Minister Rishi Sunak emphasized early Sunday that it will not be a “normal” Christmas, suggesting that people will still have to follow social distancing rules to limit the spread of Covid-19.
Some people have welcomed the idea of allowing homes to form festive bubbles, while others have raised questions about why the bubbles cannot last beyond the Christmas period.
Many expressed concern that the virus could still spread if people are allowed to gather, leading to a third wave of Covid-19 and more lockdowns.
A large number of people were disappointed that the government did not take the opportunity to call the bubbles “trinkets,” a waste of a good pun.
Boris Johnson is expected to address parliament on Monday with the proposals, but No. 10 has yet to confirm how many days the Christmas pardon could last or how many households will be able to bubble.
