There have been another 19,875 coronavirus cases and 341 deaths reported in the UK.
It represents a big drop from Friday, when 20,252 COVID-19 There were 511 cases and deaths, and an even bigger drop from last Saturday, when there were 26,860 cases and 462 deaths.
The figures reach 16 days of the second coronavirus blockade, with the government’s goal of lifting social restrictions in 10 days, on Wednesday, December 2.
The government has promised that when the new restrictions expire they will be replaced by another tiered system, although Downing Street continues to monitor cases before revealing the rules of the news next week.
The UK government and delegated administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are also in talks about which COVID-19 measures should be in place over Christmas.
Recent reports have suggested that there could be a special easing of restrictions during the holiday period to allow families to reunite.
It comes when, today, Wales opened its first rapid mass test center for people without symptoms, following the pilot plan in Liverpool.
Merthyr Tydfil has become the first area in Wales to start mass testing and everyone who lives or works there can now get a free trial.
The objective is to identify more positive cases and stop the spread of the disease without control, using lateral flow tests that give a result in about 20-30 minutes and it is not necessary to send it to a laboratory.
People who test positive will also undergo a traditional swab test, which has a higher degree of accuracy, and will be asked to go home to self-isolate.
