The UK has reported 58 coronavirus deaths and 4,715 cases in the last 24-hour period.
The number of deaths marks a drop from last Saturday (March 20), when 96 were recorded.
Cases have also fallen week-over-week, below 5,587 reported last Saturday.
Meanwhile, the number of first doses of vaccine administered in the UK approached 30 million; the figure is now 29,727,435.
Some 3,293,517 have also received a second dose of vaccine.
The figures come when Boris Johnson stated that there is nothing to dissuade him of “continuing on our roadmap to freedom” in terms of England’s route out of the blockade.
Speaking to the Conservative Party virtual spring conference, Boris Johnson said he was looking forward to going to the hair salon, having a pint at a pub and “unlocking our economy and getting back to the life we love.”
But he warned that while “we are in a different world than last spring,” it was necessary to be “honest about the difficulties that lie ahead.”
He said there were still unanswered questions about the impact of a third coronavirus wave in Europe, as he said “bitter experience” had shown that a wave like Europe’s would hit the UK “three weeks later”.
Countries across the continent are facing a surge in cases, with Germany tightening its border controls when Health Minister Jens Spahn called for another strict lockdown.
Meanwhile, Spain plans to use € 50 million (£ 43 million) in EU funds to reduce your work week to four days in an attempt to prevent new coronavirus outbreaks.
