The UK has recorded another 36,804 confirmed cases of coronavirus, the highest daily increase since the pandemic began.
This compares with 33,364 new infections on Monday and is also higher than 35,928 on Sunday. what was a record.

But this latest figure rises to 79,349 if all deaths with COVID-19 are taken into account on the death certificate.
The recent increase in cases has been largely attributed to a new and apparently most contagious variant of the virus, known as VUI-2020
Believed to have originated in London or Kent in September, the new variant is also behind tighter restrictions in most of the UK.
