The UK has recorded another 11,299 coronavirus cases and 608 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the highest daily total of deaths since May 12.

The number of cases fell to 15,450 registered on Monday and the number of deaths increased to 206 registered on Monday.

The latest statistics come on the day that it was also revealed that the death toll in England and Wales as of November 13 was the Highest weekly total since late May.

On Thursday, people in England will find out what tier they will be placed at once the lockdown ends on December 2.

More regions than before the lockdown are expected to face Level 2 or Level 3 restrictions. Health Secretary Matt Hancock has admitted the rules were not strict enough the first time.

On Monday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced his winter plan to fight the coronavirus in the months leading up to spring.

He said the launch of a vaccine was expected to be a sign that life could return to “normal” by Easter.
