The Prince of Wales said he has been “saddened” by “the variable assimilation of coronavirus hits” in black and Asian communities.
Speaking remotely at a British Asian Trust webinar on vaccine safety, Prince Charles said the jab’s production was thanks to a “superhuman effort by medical experts” but called it a “tragedy” that “the benefits such an achievement would not be experienced by all. “
Calling the pandemic a “pernicious threat” and the low vaccination rates among some communities as an “irritating issue,” he said he had been inspired to speak out to “allow people of all backgrounds to adopt the vaccine” and “that barriers to their adoption are removed. “

The short film that destroys the coronavirus myth will also be shown on the UK’s main commercial TV channels, Sky, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and STV, at 21:56 GMT tonight, at the “biggest hurdle in the history of television “.
The three and a half minute program, which was originally shown online, now has a host of new stars urging people to #TakeTheVaccine.
Sanjeev Bhaskar, Meera Syal and Romesh Ranganathan take part, along with singer Beverley Knight, Olympic heptathlete Denise Lewis, historian David Olusoga and actor Hugh Quarshie.
It also features the Mayor of London Sadiq khan, former Coronation Street actress Shobna Gulati, cricketer Moeen Ali, and TV host and author Konnie Huq.
Citizen Khan creator Adil Ray originally coordinated the video in response to an investigation showing the pandemic It disproportionately affects people from ethnic minority communities while suggesting that those people are less likely to be vaccinated.
The video addresses the phenomenon of fake news around vaccine use, which has been particularly prohibitive in South Asian communities.
Comedian Ranganathan jokes: “There is no chip or tracker in the vaccine to keep seeing where you are going. Your cell phone does a much better job at that.”
The celebrity video also claims that there is no scientific evidence to suggest that it will work differently in people from ethnic minorities and that it does not include pork or “any material of fetal or animal origin.”
Vaccine Minister Nadhim Zahawi has said he is concerned that jab use will be less in BAME communities after a document published by the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (WISE) found that hesitancy was greatest in black or British black groups, with 72% saying they were unlikely / very unlikely to receive the jab, followed by Pakistani / Bangladeshi groups.
Adults from ethnic minority groups are 10% to 20% less likely to receive vaccines than those from whites, according to the report.
