Coronation Street villain Geoff Metcalfe died a horrible death in Wednesday’s episode that left viewers totally shocked.
He fell off the roof after chasing Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) up there when he set his house on fire, but Alya (Sair Khan) managed to stop him after waking up from him, knocking her out and tracking him down.
However, Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) slipped and fell, dying instantly despite Yasmeen valiantly trying to save his life, after finally telling him that she was no longer afraid of him in the dramatic showdown.
In Monday’s installment, Yasmeen was found not guilty of attempting to murder Geoff when she bottled him around the neck in self-defense.
Geoff arrived at Yasmeen’s door with a bouquet of flowers, sneaking into the building and trying to emotionally manipulate Yasmeen into taking him back.
Yasmeen told him that she had already filed a complaint against him with the police, after he harassed her out of court following the not guilty verdict.
Geoff tried to force Yasmeen to give him half of the house, but she refused because the house is hers and was tricked into giving him half of the house.
When Yasmeen returned to the house to collect her belongings, she was overwhelmed by horrible memories of some of Geoff’s cruelest moments, before Geoff arrived too.
Geoff ambushed Alya at Speed Dahl and told her that Yasmeen had signed on her half, and Alya told Geoff that she had told Christine all about Geoff’s misdeeds and that she wanted nothing to do with the.
Geoff suddenly grabbed the cash register and hit Alya over the head with it, knocking her unconscious and laughing before kicking her.
Upon arriving at the house, the drunk Geoff demanded a fresh start with Yasmeen and accused her of attacking and rejecting him.
Laughing like a madman, Geoff told Yasmeen that Alya was dead, before pouring gasoline on the floor and holding up a lighter.
Yasmeen begged Geoff to stop and promised to retract his complaint, trying to convince him to come back, but he raised the flame and set the house on fire, with Yasmeen running up the stairs to the roof and calling for help, but no one could hear her. . over the noise of the celebrations that the protest against demolition was working.
Geoff also climbed onto the roof and was closing in on Yasmeen, before Alya came up behind him and hit him, trying to stop him.
Gathering up her courage, Yasmeen told Geoff: “To feel great you had to make me small, and I followed him and yes, I was afraid of the yelling and the sulking, but mostly I felt sorry for you.”
Geoff replied, “You can’t rewrite history, you begged like a dog.”
“And you enjoyed it, your pathetic excuse for a man,” Yasmeen said.
She told Alya: “You should see him when he’s off guard, engrossed in a movie, open-mouthed catching flies, he still sucks his thumb when he thinks no one is looking.
She continued: “I’m not afraid of you anymore, do you hear me? If the plan is to push me, look me in the eyes and I know that I am no longer afraid of you.”
Geoff reached out to grab Yasmeen but fell over and yelled, “Don’t stand there, please help me!”
Alya pleaded with Yamseen, “He will drag you down with him, he doesn’t deserve it, he’s beyond help!”
“I am not,” Yasmeen replied, taking off his scarf and trying to help Geoff up, but he lost control and fell to the ground where he lay dead, Yasmeen’s chickens pecking around him as the music from the protest reached a creshendo.
“Don’t look,” Alya warned Yasmeen.
