Coronavirus: United Kingdom registers 4,926 new cases, the highest daily figure in four months | UK News

Another 4,926 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the UK, the highest daily number since May 7.

Another 37 people have died within 28 days of testing positive for COVID-19 – the highest number reported in a day since July 14, government data shows for Tuesday.

On Monday, 4,368 coronavirus Cases were confirmed and 11 deaths were reported.

Today’s data brings the total number of confirmed cases in the UK to 403,551.

A total of 41,825 have died within 28 days of testing positive for the virus, but separate figures released by UK statistical agencies show that 57,500 deaths have now been recorded in the UK where the coronavirus was mentioned in the death certificate.

It comes after Prime Minister Boris Johnson imposed range of new restrictions to help slow the spread of the virus in England, including closing pubs, restaurants and bars at 10pm and limiting weddings to 15 people
