1. The UK economy continues to recover in July

2. MPs want the license to be extended to minimize job losses

The government must consider a specific extension of its licensing plan beyond October, or risk massive long-term unemployment and the bankruptcy of viable companies, deputies warn. The Treasury, which is offering companies a £ 1,000 bonus for every unlicensed worker still employed at the end of January, says it will “continue to innovate to support income and employment.”

4. DWP office failed to enforce social distancing

5. Doctors study the brain of a ‘miraculous’ Covid patient

Omar Taylor, father of two, is the youngest patient in the world who has suffered a stroke due to the coronavirus. And, for his family, it was “a miracle” when the 31-year-old left Colchester General Hospital after six weeks in which he was also treated for pneumonia, sepsis and respiratory failure. Doctors now hope their brain scans will help other patients.
