Some companies close as a precaution

Some of the companies announcing closures have done so after a customer or staff member tested positive for coronavirus.

But others have decided to close as a precautionary measure after learning of suspected cases.

On Facebook, Reds Hair Salon wrote: “Today we have been informed that a staff member tested positive for Covid. Despite our rigorous deep cleaning practices and our monitoring measures, customer and staff safety remains our top priority.

“As such, we have made the decision to close our business with immediate effect.

“We have contacted the NHS accordingly and have been advised to continue as usual, due to the personal protective equipment worn by both clients and staff, however we believe we will close down for a deep clean and do more Staff testing is responsible.This is a precautionary measure and we will reopen Tuesday.

“Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. Just to confirm that we are doing this beyond what the NHS has informed us, the risk is extremely low.”

And Salt House Kitchen published: “It has come to our attention that one of our customers suspects Covid 19. As a precautionary measure, we will voluntarily close the restaurant tomorrow.” [Monday] for a complete deep cleaning in which an antiviral fogging machine will be used throughout the restaurant.

“The safety of our customers and staff remains our only priority and we believe this is the best course of action to take. We will reopen on Tuesday as usual.”
