Police were called to an ‘out of control’ street party complete with a DJ and a barbecue after some revelers broke the rules of social estrangement.

Video from the Nottingham event shows police cars parked on the scene, and partygoers mingle around the speakers on the sidewalk.

A man at the party can be seen chatting with masked officers before taking the microphone and urging anyone other than local to leave the area.

Police issued two fines to people who refused to follow social distancing rules at Friday’s event, Nottinghamshire Live reports.

In the video, you can hear a man saying, “If you’re not extreme … f ** k off.

“Whoever is born and raised on the extremes, stay here, this is our home there. If you don’t live here, just move there. Assemble your troops and just go, I beg you.”

Another woman tells the crowd, “What the officers are saying is … stay in your gardens and keep your distance.

“If you’re going to be here, you will have to stand as a couple (with) who you came with.”

Residents told police they were concerned about “the large number of attendees and some people who violate social distancing rules.”

Nottinghamshire Police Neighborhood Inspector Gordon Fenwick said: “The officers who attended became involved with some of the people present and gave strong advice to those who were not socially estranged.”

Officers issued fines to people for refusing to follow social distancing rules.

“The officers remained at the event and issued two fines to people who decided not to follow the advice given to them.

“The officers spoke and worked with the event organizer who tried to reinforce the message about people who need to follow the rules of social distancing.

“Parts of the group started moving forward and most of the people were gone by 9pm.”

Most people left the party at 9 p.m.

People who had come to the party from other areas were asked to leave.

So far, the Nottinghamshire police have issued 117 fines, most for young men between the ages of 18 and 30.

Chief Superintendent Rob Griffin added: “From the beginning, we have been clear that our focus during the The coronavirus outbreak has been engaging with members of the public, explaining current Covid-19 regulations, and encouraging people to follow directions.

“We have only used law enforcement when it has been absolutely necessary to do so.”

“The vast majority of the people our officers have spoken to have been really understanding and listened to the advice we have given them.

“It’s nice that in this case the community members have been really supportive, actively helping to bring some normality and encouraging people to follow the rules.”

“Our priority is to keep people safe and we have discovered, as we did with the incident on this street, that by increasing our response appropriately and only when necessary we have resolved things safely.”
