Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive for coronavirus, the Portuguese Football Federation (PFF) said.
The Portuguese forward will now miss his country’s Nations League match against Sweden on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old, who also plays for Italian Juventus, is said to be “fine, symptom-free and isolated.”
Ronaldo posted a photo of himself on Instagram on Monday that showed him sitting around a long table having dinner with other members of the Portugal team.
However, no further positive tests have been reported on the team before the Sweden match.
The PFF confirmed in a statement: “After the positive case, the remaining players were subjected to new tests this Tuesday morning, all with negative results, and they are at the disposal of Fernando Santos to train this afternoon, at Cidade do Futebol.
“The match (against Sweden), counting towards the Nations League qualifying phase, is scheduled for Wednesday at 7:45 pm in Alvalade.”
Ronaldo had played in both of Portugal’s matches so far during the international break.
The striker started against Spain in Lisbon, coming out at the end of the second half of the goalless draw, and then played the entire A3 Nations League match against France in Saint-Denis on Sunday.
Ronaldo has scored in every one of his league appearances for Juventus this season, including a double in a 2-2 draw against Roma on September 27.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has previously played for Real Madrid and Manchester United.
