All areas of Kent, bar one, have seen their coronavirus infection rate rise, according to the latest government data.
Currently 11 areas of Kent are now ranked among the 24 worst affected areas in the country as we get closer to the government’s review of the local level system.
Swale, Medway, Gravesham, Maidstone, Dover and Thanet rank first, second, fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth in England, respectively, in terms of coronavirus infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
Rates are cause for concern, as the decision on the level of each area at Christmas will be made on December 16, released on December 17, and implemented on December 19.
Only Thanet, who has seen its infection rate drop from 449.5 to 417.8 and cases drop by 45, has countered the worrying trend.
Swale, Medway and Gravesham rates now stand at 630.3, 599.5 and 461.0 respectively.
Canterbury continues to narrowly fall out of the 10 worst affected areas, ranking 11th with a rate of 395.4.
Sevenoaks remains the Kent area with the lowest infection rate at 160.7
