Sally Dynevor has shared her excitement and shock at receiving an MBE on the New Years honors list.
The 57-year-old Coronation Street actress, who has played Sally Metcalfe on the cobblestones for the past 35 years, said she is still processing the news a month after she was told.
He will also join the soap opera star as singer Craig David, who will earn an MBE, and Line Of Duty producer Jed Mercurio, who will become OBE, will be recognized in 2021.

Speaking about the incredible achievement, Sally told The Mirror: ‘I am honored, grateful and very proud to have received this honor. I’m still in shock.
“I didn’t think it was real when I first found out earlier this month that I was getting an MBE. Keeping it a secret has been very difficult.
‘The young woman in those scenes [on Coronation Street] 35 years ago I could only have dreamed of the incredible things that were going to happen in the next few years. ‘
Sally also praised her colleagues on the show and everyone at the Prevent Breast Cancer charity by sharing her gratitude for receiving the MBE, saying it was for them too.

Sally has been on the hit ITV show for the past 35 years, making her the seventh oldest star of the soap opera.
During her time on the show, Sally has had hard-hitting stories, including being a victim of domestic abuse, receiving a breast cancer diagnosis, and being sent to prison for fraud.
She also thanked her husband of 25 years Tim and their children. Phoebe, 25, who is the star of the new Netflix series, Bridgerton, Sam, 23, and Hattie, 16, while celebrating receiving the MBE.
Singer Craig David, 39, is another household name who will be recognized for his services to music and will be named an MBE.

Other famous names receiving an honor on the New Years list include EastEnders actress Nina Wadia, who plays Zainab Masood, who will be given an OBE.
Nina’s recognition is for her entertainment and charity services after working with Barnardo’s, a kidney research charity and two diabetes organizations.
Actor Toby Jones and Line of Duty producer Jed Mercutio will also receive an OBE for their services on the List.
Lesley Manville, who will play Princess Margaret in series five and six of The Crown, has received a CBE.

Also receiving a new title for the New Year is actress Sheila Hancock, who will become Dame along with makeup artist Pat McGrath.
Sheila, 87, who has starred in movies such as Edie and Carry On Cleo, as well as the television series The Rag Trade, received her OBE in 1974 and her CBE in 2011, both for services to drama.
While Oscar-winning cinematographer Roger Deakins, who has worked on Fargo, Skyfall and No Country For Old Men, will become Sir.
Ahead of the awards announcement Wednesday night, Craig David suffered a social media glitch when he accidentally revealed that his manager had received an OBE hours before the official announcement.

The 39-year-old 7 Days hitmaker posted a photo of his manager Colin Lester along with a sweet message at 10.30am, before quickly deleting the message once he realized that the Year Honors List New had not yet been published.
Craig wrote: ‘Congratulations to my manager, friend and business partner for receiving an OBE for his services to the music industry and charity on the Queen’s New Years Honor Roll. I’m so happy and proud of you Colin! xxx ‘
Although Craig deleted the tweets, multiple responses to his message can still be seen, with fans congratulating Colin on his incredible achievement.

Craig and Colin have worked together for more than two decades. Colin discovered and hired Craig, then 18, in 1999.
