Leeds United claimed a last-gasp win at Sheffield United on Sunday with a header from Patrick Bamford in the 88th minute.
The victory marks six points out of nine for the Whites, who faced defending champion Liverpool and newly promoted Fulham before their trip to Bramall Lane.
The headlines of the match were undoubtedly Illan Meslier’s saves, especially in the first half, to keep the Blades out and the possibility of winning alive.
These are the moments you may have missed from the start of Sunday lunch.
Keep the ball
As the match entered its final strokes, there was a clear tide turning as the hosts became increasingly desperate to save a game point.
As Marcelo Bielsa’s team, there is always the temptation to attack until the last, to keep risking and to keep pressing hard, creating space for counterattacks.
Leeds United is a club at the center of it all and with legendary coach Marcelo Bielsa at the helm, and the club is finally back where it belongs, that’s true now more than ever.

However, captain Liam Cooper, now experienced in watching matches with Bielsa, made sure to be the voice everyone could hear inside the stadium.
“Get the ball! Get the ball! Get the ball! “
Cooper was yelling at his attackers to make sure they didn’t give up possession easily and to allow the hosts to sniff out the possibility of doing so again.
In other words, take it to the corner.
Rodrigo gets a stamp of approval
Bielsa has shown, more than once in his career, his concern about the replacement of substitutes in his teams over the years. Know the psychological impact it can have on players.
When he knocked out Tyler Roberts from last season’s home game with West Bromwich Albion after sending him as a substitute, Bielsa brought the entire team together for his lengthy apology speech at Thorp Arch.
Rodrigo retired in injury time at Bramall Lane, despite being entered at halftime for Roberts. The Spaniard was surprised when he saw his number go up and had to point to himself to confirm it.
It was a wonderful cameo for the record signing he made, vastly improving on his previous outings with United.
Cooper made sure they heard him clapping and congratulating on a good display coming off the field. Perhaps the effort of a captain to make sure his star player’s head doesn’t fall off.
Meslier the center of attention
The full-time footage shows how much appreciation the team showed their goalkeeper after the points were secured, but it also became apparent at half-time.
As the players left the field, three or four teammates wrapped their arms around Meslier’s shoulders and made it clear how grateful they were that he had saved their bacon more than once.
Heckingbottom observed
Bielsa’s predecessor, Paul Heckingbottom, was seen taking his seat in the directors’ box before the game on Bramall Lane, exchanging compliments with some of his former colleagues.
The former Hibernian coach was named the Blades’ under-23 head coach in July.
I told you
It wasn’t until after the game that it became clear why Bamford placed such an emphasis on targeting Jack Harrison after his winner.
The winger, of course, served the center for Bamford to bury him, but there was a point, a wry smile and an exchange of words once the forward finished celebrating with his teammates.
After the game, Bamford said he had told Harrison to cross between central and far centers for him.
Harrison complied, Bamford finished and the forward said he had told him.
