Conor McGregor promises ‘fucking butcher’ Justin Gaethje after his impressive victory at UFC 249

Conor McGregor threw down the gauntlet to lightweight rival Justin Gaethje as the Irish superstar influenced the Americans’ rise to the top echelon of the 155-pound division.

Gaethje stole the show in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday night, stopping Tony Ferguson in five rounds with a confident performance that saw the 31-year-old take the interim lightweight title.

‘The Highlight’ is now in pole position to take on lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, and the undefeated Russian is the man to beat in the division.

And McGregor, who had no doubt been on the lookout for Saturday’s proceedings, has weighed in on the latest development in the division in which he used to be champion.

Referring to Nurmagomedov’s meowing style, McGregor said: ‘Justin, there is no danger in a man who hugs his legs, we all know that. Try dancing around what’s the real threat here all you want.

However, McGregor has not received Gaethje’s comments about his children.

There is no lost love between ‘The Notorious’ and Gaethje. The American questioned the Irishman as a father and challenged him to a fight in January. McGregor went on to fight Donald Cerrone instead.

‘I will take the winner of Khabib and Tony [Ferguson] And if the little Irishman wants to come back, I’m here, man. I’m the perfect guy to bring him back, ” he said in September 2019.

‘I will never depart from the truth, that is the truth. There is nothing more than that. It had nothing to do with fighting, nothing to do with wanting to fight.

The Irishman told Gaethje to skip a title fight and face him in a light showdown.

McGregor was also unleashed on Nurmagomedov. The pair shared a toxic rivalry in 2018 in preparation for and after UFC 229, in which the Russian stopped his archrival in the fourth round.

Gaethje manager Ali Abdelaziz has weighed in on McGregor’s comments. The 42-year-old man also drives Nurmagomedov.

Abdelaziz said. ‘He had a chance to fight Justin in January, and he chose [Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone] instead. He chose the easiest fight. Now, the two kings of the division will fight. Maybe Conor can fight someone in the main event.
