Chrissy Teigen’s mother Vilailuck has shared the moment she met her late grandson Jack in a heartbreaking video.
Vilailuck posted a video on Instagram showing her sobbing while holding Jack, who is wrapped in a blanket, before kissing him.
Her 34-year-old daughter, Chrissy, had announced Wednesday that she had tragically lost her third child to her husband John Legend, about halfway through their pregnancy.
Vilailuck shared several photos of his time with Jack in the hospital and captioned the tears: “My heart hurts, I love you so much baby Jack.”
In the video, Chrissy’s mom is seen handing Jack into her arms and soon begins to sob when the hospital worker informs her, “You can touch him if you want.”
The emotional scene sees Vilailuck placing his hand on Jack before leaning in to kiss him.
In the other photos he has shared, Vilailuck is seen holding the baby wrapped in diapers in his arms.
Chrissy had been hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Sunday night with heavy bleeding due to a weak placenta and had been in the hospital ever since.
On Wednesday night, Chrissy took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news with fans that she and her husband, 41, are mourning the loss of their son Jack.
Alongside the photos, Chrissy spoke about her loss when she wrote: “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain that you only hear about, the kind of pain that we’ve never felt before.”
Chrissy continued: “We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite the bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.
“We never decide the names of our babies until the last possible moment after they are born, just before leaving the hospital.
“But we, for some reason, had started calling this little one in my belly Jack. So for us he will always be Jack.
“Jack worked very hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be forever.
“For our Jack, I am very sorry that the first moments of your life were so complicated, that we could not give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.”
Chrissy added, “Thank you to everyone who has sent us positive energy, thoughts and prayers. We feel all your love and truly appreciate you.
“We are so thankful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the wonderful things we have been able to experience.
“But every day cannot be full of sun. On this darkest day, we will cry, we will cry. But we will hug and love stronger and we will get over it.”
Husband John also took to social media to mourn the loss of his son.
On Twitter he wrote: “We love you Jack” along with a series of black heart emojis.
Chrissy and John had announced their pregnancy in August.
The couple married in September 2013 after being together for six years.
They have two other children together: a four-year-old daughter named Luna and a two-year-old son named Miles.
