Southampton team early news
Ralph Hasenhüttl must plan without Stuart Armstrong, who is in self-isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 while on duty in Scotland. His absence means that Theo Walcott, the Southampton newcomer from Everton, could make his second Southampton debut more than 15 years after his first.
Moussa Djenepo is also absent for Southampton as they recover from a hamstring injury. New signing Ibrahima Diallo is likely to start on the bench following his transfer to St Mary’s from French Brest.

Chelsea team early news
The recent signings of Edouard Mendy and Thiago Silva have been ruled out. Mendy suffered a thigh injury while on international service for Senegal, but Frank Lampard was not prepared to say which of Kepa Arrizabalaga or Willy Caballero would replace his new goalkeeper. Silva is not injured, but has been left out of the call for the day after returning later than ideal from his trips with Brazil.
In better news for Lampard, Hakim Ziyech has recovered from a knee injury and will be with a Chelsea team for the first time. Christian Pulisic is available for selection after his return from injury.

Premier League Chelsea v Southampton
Stamford Bridge is the site of a Premier League match that is costing BT Sport customers in the UK quite a controversial £ 14.95 on top of their regular subscription so it better be a good one.
Needless to say, you’ll be able to read all about it here completely free of charge, as Frank Lampard’s team host a Southampton team in the hopes of clinching three wins in a row after defeating West Brom and Burnley. Chelsea still have back-to-back wins to do this season, but they can do it today after a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace, a score that was somewhat flattering.
Today’s kick-off is at 3pm (BST), but stay tuned in the meantime for team news and preparation, while we will also keep an eye on results and main talking points outside of the Premier League.
