Masked thieves stole a safe during a raid on the home of Everton coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Merseyside police did not mention Ancelotti in their statement, but said two men, dressed in black rain gear and black ski masks, entered the property in Crosby at around 6.30 p.m. Friday night.

They were upset by Ancelotti’s daughter. Police said the home’s occupants were unharmed and investigations are ongoing.

Ancelotti is not believed to have been home at the time of the incident.

The full police statement read: “We are requesting information after a safe was stolen in a robbery in Crosby on Friday night (February 12).

“We were called at 6.35pm for a report that two men had entered a property on Hall Road East around 6.30pm.

“The assailants were described in black waterproof clothing, possibly with white lettering, and black ski masks.

“The occupants of the house were unharmed.

“Officers attended and investigations into the incident are ongoing. The property will be examined by a coroner and CCTV opportunities are being explored.”
