A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “It is reported that a car got onto the sidewalk and hit several pedestrians.
‘We await an update on injuries. At this initial stage, this incident is not being treated as related to terrorism. “
They said no arrests have yet been made but investigations are ongoing.
At least 10 emergency service vehicles rushed to the scene in Hackney this morning.
It was understood that the paramedics were treating people who were lying on the pavement near the car, which appears to have an inflated airbag.
Emergency services teams in high-visibility jackets are seen gathering around the fruit and vegetable star as more officers are manning a cordon.
