Frank Lampard has handed the Premier League debut to the summer signings of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner at Chelsea’s Monday night football meeting with Brighton.

Havertz and Werner are the only new faces in Chelsea’s starting lineup at Amex Stadium, with Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and Hakim Ziyech unavailable due to injury.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is preferred to Willy Caballero in goal despite speculation about his future, while there is also an unusual start to the Premier League for Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

N’Golo Kante joins Loftus-Cheek and Jorginho in midfield, with Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen preferred center-back in what appears to be a four. César Azpilicueta is only on the bench.

At Brighton, meanwhile, his debut is Adam Lallana, who came to the club from Liverpool in a free signing at the end of last season.

Lallana is the only new signing to Graham Potter’s lineup, but there is a start for Ben White, who has returned to the club after his loan from Leeds last season.

The Brighton team will play Chelsea: Ryan, Webster, Dunk, White, Lamptey, Bissouma, Alzate, March, Lallana, Trossard, Maupay

Subs: Steele, Stephens, Connolly, Gross, Jahanbakhsh, Burn, Veltman
