BORIS Johnson’s days in Downing Street are numbered unless he gives a clear path out of lockdown soon, the influential conservatives warned.
Powerful backbencher Steve Baker, who was instrumental in Theresa May’s downfall, has said privately that “it is inevitable that the Prime Minister’s leadership is on the table.”

In an explosive appeal to members of the Covid Recovery Group, the skeptic of the lockdown, the former minister criticized: “people tell me they are losing faith in our leadership of the Conservative Party.”
The group represents dozens of conservative backbenchers who are concerned about the side effects of prolonged crashes.
Baker urged those colleagues to raise their concerns directly with Johnson’s Commons enforcer, Chief Whip Mark Spencer.
