BORIS Johnson and his fiancee Carrie Symonds arranged a safe Covid baptism for their four-month-old son, The Sun can reveal.
Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson was baptized in front of some family members and close friends in a moving but top-secret service on Saturday.
But then there was no reception for the guests because the first couple wanted to set a good example to the public when organizing formal events.
A source revealed: “After everything Boris and Carrie have been through this year, baptizing Wilfred was a very special moment.
“They shared it with a small number of people and the service was simple but beautiful, with many tears and laughter.
‘SPECIAL PRIVATE MOMENT’
“They do not intend to post photographs as it was a special private moment.”
Planning focused on the fact that the country is in the midst of a pandemic.
Our source added: “It was a priority for Boris and Carrie that all baptism be Covid-safe.
“There was no reception or party afterwards. They may have a big celebration every time they get married. “
Wilfred was born on April 29, 20 days after his father was in intensive care for coronavirus.
His middle name is a tribute to two doctors named Nick who treated the prime minister.
Last night, No10 declined to comment on the baptism.
