Misleading caller causes panic by saying there is a bomb in the Empire State Building, just two days after the Nashville suicide attack

The New York Police Department responded to a bomb threat at the Empire State Building on Sunday morning that has since been considered a false report.
Someone called 911 shortly after 11 a.m. and told dispatchers that a bomb would go off at the iconic monument at noon.
Officers from the NYPD bomb squad responded to the scene, but no explosive devices were found inside.
A spokesman for the police department told DailyMail.com that the threat “appears to be without foundation at this time.”
Since then, the police have deemed the building safe.
There is currently no further information available.

The threat comes just two days after a major explosion rocked downtown Nashville on Christmas Day.
The blast, which took place on a mostly deserted street, was preceded by a recording warning those nearby to evacuate.
Investigators have been searching the home of Anthony Quinn Warner, 63, who has been identified as a person of interest in the bombing.
Friday’s blast emanated from a white motorhome parked outside the AT&T building on 2nd Avenue at 6.40 a.m. The explosion injured three people and seriously damaged the city center.
