Body found in search of man who ‘fell into the river’ near Abergwyngregyn

Police have confirmed the discovery of a body in the search for a man who disappeared after falling into a river.

Emergency services were called to the Abergwyngregyn area of ​​Gwynedd shortly before 4pm today (October 6).

There have been reports of a man in the water.

Officers have now confirmed that a man’s body was found around 7.15 p.m.

The Coast Guard and members of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team participated in the main search operation.

According to the North Wales Police, the man’s relatives have already been informed.

Detective Chief Inspector Alun Oldfield said: “Our deepest condolences go out to the man’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

“An investigation is now underway to establish what happened and as such we are unable to comment further.”
