Britain’s Got Talent aired a sort of family reunion when host Ant McPartlin ran into a relative during the audition round.
Not only that, but it turned out that they had already met, as the particular hope had been in BGT twice before.
Dec Donnelly couldn’t help but make a hilarious dig at the time, when Ant and his lost relative hugged him backstage.
Ant and Dec went to find the next audition to take the stage in front of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.
They couldn’t believe what they were seeing when they saw familiar faces of Katherine and Joe O’Malley, dressed as Ariel and Sebastian from The Little Mermaid.
They previously auditioned as Beauty and the Beast and Frozen.
But when Ant went to greet them once more, he was stunned when Joe confirmed that he had something to say to him.
He had made a discovery since his last audition, and he knew that he and Ant were related.
Fans may recall earlier this year Ant and Dec’s ancestry show on ITV, Ant & Dec’s DNA Journey, aired and revealed that they were likely related.
Not only that, but both hosts had an Irish heritage dating back centuries, with relatives still there now.
After watching the show, Joe realized that, like O’Malley, he was also linked to Ant.
He said to the presenter, “Before we say anything, I can say that … you and I are related.”
Ant was surprised and realized that he had seen the show, and Joe agreed that this was how he found out.
Joe and Ant hugged him, before Dec made a funny taunt of his best friend.
While Joe was dressed as a crab in addition to Ant, Dec joked, “I thought I could see a resemblance.”
Britain’s Got Talent airs on Saturdays at 8 p.m. on ITV.
