The Algerian international is close to sealing his move to the Hammers after his impressive performances last season

Premier League’s West Ham United have reached a deal with championship Brentford over the signing of Said Benrahma.

The deal for the center forward’s signing is believed to be close to £ 30 million according to Sky Sports.

The 25-year-old had spectacular performances for the Bees in the 2019-20 season, scoring 17 goals in 43 league games to help the club reach the playoff final, where they lost to Fulham.

Algeria’s eye-catching international displays generated interest from several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal.

The forward, however, was unable to make his dream move to the English top flight before the end of the main transfer window.

The attacker will now hope to reach a personal agreement with the Hammers before the domestic window between the Premier League and EFL clubs ends on Friday.

Benrahma moved to England in the summer of 2018 when he teamed up with Brentford from Nice in Ligue 1.

Since then, the forward has accumulated more than 27 goals in all competitions for the Bees since his arrival at the club.

Benrahma, who has four appearances for the Algerian national team, is currently in international service with the North African team and was involved in their 1-0 win over Nigeria in Austria on Friday.

He is also expected to play a role when the African champions meet Mexico in their second friendly on Tuesday.

Benrahma will hope to fix his career on his return to England after the international break.

If his move to West Ham is successful, the forward will join Democratic Republic of Congo international Arthur Masuaku at the club.

The Hammers narrowly escaped relegation last season after finishing 16th in the Premier League.

This season, David Moyes’s men have won two games and lost two in four games to rank 10th.
