Avonmouth blast: First images from the scene of the major incident

The first images come from the big explosion at Avonmouth.

The images show the damage caused by an explosion in a warehouse in the area.

They also show police and fire and rescue services at the scene, on King’s Weston Lane in Avonmouth.

Ambulance crews are also known to be at the scene of the incident with ‘multiple resources’.

Victims have been reported in the ‘serious incident’ and the fire service has issued an initial statement with more to follow.

The fire service confirmed that there have been casualties at the scene, but could not provide us with further information at this time.

In a statement, Avon Fire & Rescue Service said: “We have been called in to a large explosion at 11:22 am at a warehouse in Avonmouth.

“Crews of Avonmouth, Southmead, I already, Patchway, Kingswood and Temple are currently attending.

“We are united by Avon and Somerset Police and Ambulance on site.

“The incident continues.”

South Western Ambulance Service Foundation Trust said: “South Western Ambulance Service is responding to a serious incident at the King’s Weston Lane facility, Avonmouth, Bristol.
