Premier League CEO gives definitive relegation response
Premier League chief executive Richard Masters confirmed that the teams will be relegated this season.
Aston Villa is currently 19th at the table with 10 games to play. Dean Smith’s side is two safety points with a game in hand on the teams above them.
Given the talk about neutral spots coming into play, there have been suggestions that the descent could be removed from the table, but Masters insists that will not be the case.
He said: “I think I have said that if the season unfolds, no one has suggested or talked about relegation not being in play.” So, on that basis, yes (I see that the teams are relegated). “

New UEFA decision clears the way for Aston Villa’s hopes of survival
UEFA is willing to extend the deadline given to the national leagues to complete the season in a move that could allow Aston Villa to conclude its bid for survival.
Villa is locked in the Premier League relegation battle, but has not played for two months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Matches remain suspended, but Premier League bosses are committed to ending the season and the government has given permission for sporting events to return in June.
The last meeting between the top 20 clubs was held on Monday and another one is scheduled for next week.

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish is a transfer target for Manchester United.
The midfielder has enjoyed a brilliant season in the Premier League, scoring seven goals and providing six assists to lead Villa’s battle for survival.
He also captained his childhood club in the Carabao Cup final, scoring and assisting twice on the way to Wembley before Villa lost 2-1 to Manchester City.
United has been tracking its progress for some time, but the coronavirus pandemic has created uncertainty about transfers ahead of the window.

Premier League owner guarantees relegated teams ‘sue’
The owner of a Premier League club is in favor of eliminating relegation and warned bosses that they are facing “a summer of chaos”.
Plans to resume the season are accelerating, but there is still an agreement with many details still to be finalized, the issue of neutral motives is just one. Chief Executive Christian Purslow has spoken out against the idea and Villa’s relegation rivals have followed suit.
But the idea that relegation off the table to appease clubs at the bottom has been rejected by Premier League CEO Richard Masters.
The owner, who remained anonymous during his interview with Sky Sports, believes there is a ’40 percent ‘chance that the campaign will be canceled and insists that the relegated teams will not be willing to accept their fate.

Dijon chief vows to transfer Chouiar amid Villa interest
Aston Villa is being linked with Dijon winger Mounir Chouiar.
The 21-year-old, who joined Dijon de Lens last year, has enjoyed a brilliant campaign in Ligue 1, drawing the attention of several European clubs.
According to French press reports, Villa is among his suitors before the next transfer window.
But Dijon’s sporting director Peguy Luyindula says he has no intention of selling Chouiar when trade resumes.
