Arsenal star Gabriel sends a message on social media to fans amid the complaint for the dismissal of Mikel Arteta

Gabriel Magalhaes apologized to Arsenal fans after the Gunners lost 1-0 at home to Burnley.

An own goal from captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the second half was enough to condemn Arsenal to their fourth consecutive home defeat in the Premier League, and increased the pressure on first-team coach Mikel Arteta.

The task of the gunners didn’t get any easier after Granit Xhaka was shown a direct red card for violent conduct with half an hour remaining.

Following a VAR review, the Swiss midfielder was sanctioned for putting his hands around the neck of Burnley midfielder Ashley Westwood.

Arteta admitted after the game that Xhaka’s actions were unacceptable.

“Absolutely (unacceptable),” he said. “He made a mistake, the dominance we had at the time … it’s a game that we clearly had to win, but with 10 men you give the opponent a chance.

“Yes, it is unacceptable to do that action, but it is because they are very willing to do more, fight more, and this time Granit went overboard.

“We cannot make that mistake because it is the wrong approach for us.”

Gunners defender Gabriel, who moved to the Emirates in the summer transfer window, took to social media after the game to apologize to fans.

The Brazilian central tweeted: “Sorry fans, we will get out of this situation. We need you!”

Gabriel tweeted after the game.

Gabriel’s call to fans comes as Arteta sees himself under increasing pressure, given the Gunners’ worst start to the Premier League season.

Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent believes the Spaniard’s time in command in North London may be coming to an end after recent results.

“Listen, I love Arteta and I think she’s done great things there,” Bent told talkSPORT.

“But this performance here, losing to Burnley the way they’ve done it, the discipline issues, the people getting kicked out, I think maybe their time is up.”

When asked if it was necessary to relieve Arteta of his duties, Bent added: “Yes. I really don’t like saying that because I wanted to give it a try.

“He did great things so fast by winning trophies [the FA Cup and Community Shield].

“But when you lose to Burnley, today’s performance and the way the team is going, Aubameyang’s form, the [Mesut] The Ozil situation, the red cards, I think potentially now his time is up. “
