Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed that he recently underwent another heart surgery.
The 73-year-old actor took to Instagram on Friday to share post-operative snapshots and say he “feels great” after having his aortic valve replaced.
Opening the procedure to his fans, the Terminator star wrote: “Thanks to the team at the Cleveland Clinic, I have a new aortic valve to accompany my new pulmonary valve from my last surgery.
“I feel fantastic and have already been walking the streets of Cleveland enjoying its amazing statues. Thanks to all the doctors and nurses on my team!”
Arnold looked happier in photos he shared online with some that showed him sporting a blue tracksuit as he walked after surgery.
Under the snap he received a series of good wishes and one of his sons, Patrick Schwarzenegger, urged his father not to go to the gym.
“PLEASE DON’T GO TO TRAINING TODAY !!” wrote alongside various heart emojis.
His other son, Joseph Baena, also added: “I love you dad! How are you doing with a lat spread already ???”
According to the NHS website, aortic valve replacement is a type of open heart surgery that is used to treat problems with the heart’s aortic valve.
The aortic valve controls the flow of blood from the heart to the rest of the body.
An aortic valve replacement involves removing a faulty or damaged valve and replacing it with a new valve made from synthetic materials or animal tissue.
The site also claims that this is a major operation that is not suitable for everyone and can take a long time to recover.
Arnold had another heart operation in 2018 where he had a new pulmonary valve inserted.
She previously experienced heart difficulties in 1997 when she needed an aortic valve replacement.
