Brittany Has Talent Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have paid tribute to their colleague Ian Royce, who sadly passed away.
Royce worked as a warm-up at Brittany Has Talent and the X Factor for many years. His death was announced on Twitter on Tuesday (September 1) by his daughter Roxanne.
“It is with our greatest regret to have to tell you all that Ian has passed away today from severe pneumonia and multiple organ failure,” he said. tweet read. “He wasn’t in pain and he was surrounded by friends and family. He put up a good fight, but now he’s in a better place.”
Ant and Dec replied to the tweet, writing: “I am very sorry to hear this news Roxanne, she was a legendary character and will not be forgotten. She was always very proud of you too. You are in our thoughts and prayers.”
They also sent a separate tweet, reading: “We are sorry to hear of the passing of Ian ‘Roycey’ Royce. (@Officialroycey). He was an integral part of the #BGT team for many years. Our thoughts go out to his beloved Roxy and his entire family. RIP Roycey. We will never forget you.”
Piers Morgan also paid tribute to Ian on Twitter, writing: “RIP Ian ‘Roycey’ Royce. Funniest warm-up man in show business and a legend in the TV industry. I worked with him on @BGT @AGT and most of my Life Stories shows. A great Kind, a very loyal friend and such a proud father to his daughter Roxanne. Thanks for all the laughs friend. “
