Power your dreams … go back to sleep.
Amazon UK has delivered bad news to some of its customers who are expecting an Xbox Series X at their doorstep today.
Affected customers woke up to an email this morning apologizing for a last minute shipping delay, but with the peace of mind that the consoles would now ship “within the next business day.”
This is despite the fact that Amazon previously promised to pre-order for delivery today, November 10, the day that Xbox Series X launches worldwide.
While many Amazon orders appear to arrive on time, several affected readers have forwarded this email to Eurogamer.
We have contacted Amazon UK for an explanation.
@ wyp100 Looks like Amazon made a mess with the x series. Not just one, but people of resetera and hukd. Ordered in 8.02. Then I got an email on Sunday saying it’s guaranteed for today. I just got an email saying it was delayed pic.twitter.com/ccqGLbAahX

The situation seems worse for some in the US, where Amazon has reached out to several pre-order customers there with the news that they may have to wait much longer.
“At this time, we anticipate that you will receive your Xbox Series X on or before 12/31,” Amazon wrote in an email. (That’s December 31!)
Numerous mentions of this note were posted on Twitter overnight, while GameSpot said that one of their own staff had received this email for their own pre-order.
“We are doing our best to get it to you as soon as possible,” concluded the email from Amazon to US customers, “and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
