And he said the Rangers and Celtic agree on one thing: they both want to end the Scottish Premier League season on the field.

McCoist said, “That is nonsense Rod. Come on, absolute nonsense about Rod there.

“You can’t give anything to anyone. You have to win it, you have to win it.”

“I don’t get it, and to be honest with you, I don’t understand where Rod came from in terms of causing all the trouble.

“The Rangers and Celtic have been consistent in their views and that if possible, they both want the season to end.”

“The rangers clearly want that to happen, and I will tell you right now, as does Celtic.”

“Because if you’re in Celtic’s shoes having that edge, even if they haven’t won it and there’s still a chance the Rangers can catch them, if you’re in Celtic’s shoes you still want the chance to go and win the league

“And that’s all the Rangers want. If there’s a chance to go play the games, then do them.

“The Rangers have been critical, not Celtic or any other team, the Rangers have been critical of the SPFL and the way they conducted a vote, and they are 100 percent correct to be critical of that.”

“There has been absolutely no discussion, if I have ever missed it, about giving titles to people. How can you give titles to people? Titles must be earned and earned.”
