Aldi Black Friday 2020 sees thousands in queues as deals go live

Thousands of people have been left in a huge queue trying to log into the Aldi website when the retailer launched its Black Friday 2020 values.

The budget grocery store broke tradition this year by participating in Black Friday for the first time, and now shoppers have crashed their website trying to get the discounted products available.

Aldi Black Friday deals include discounts Nintendo switch consoles, refurbished iPhones, Apple Airpods and a LEGO Millennium Falcon set.

Shoppers stayed up tonight in an attempt to be among the first to access the deals, leaving queues of around 9,000 people waiting to enter the Aldi website.

Before the offers were available online, Aldi had implemented an online queuing system, with a statement at the top of its website that read: “We are very sorry, but there are currently many people trying to access the website by Aldi.

“We have automatically placed it in a queue. Don’t worry about updating – this page will automatically update as soon as you can enter the site. “

Aldi also took its app offline tonight, with a statement appearing to shoppers when they log in. It read: “Sorry, the demand for our amazing special purchases is very high. We have taken our app offline for a short time to give our customers the best possible experience at www.aldi.co.uk. “

For those who still want to get their hands on Aldi’s Black Friday deals, they can access them here – although there might be a wait.

The Aldi agreements have been published as part of its Special purchases which means that when they leave, they leave. And the stock is limited.

The deals are only available online too, so don’t plan any trips to the stores as you won’t find the Black Friday discounts there.
