The reaction of an adorable two-girl Scotsman to seeing Santa Claus for the first time has melted the hearts of thousands of people.
Little girl Olivia Friel visited Cardwell Garden Center, near Gourock, with her mother, Ashleigh, who filmed her daughter’s astonishing reaction when Santa appeared on a balcony to greet the youth.
Olivia squealed with delight and was so excited she lost her balance and fell while waving to Santa.
Mom Ashleigh posted the video to Cardwell’s bosses on Facebook Messenger.
She said: “I just wanted to share a video of my daughter visiting Santa today at his garden center.
“She loved it and so did we. You have given us an experience that we will never forget. So thank you so much for your hard work in continuing to keep the magic of Christmas for everyone.
“I think her reaction, even the over-excited tumble, really says it all and even made me cry when I saw her. It was the first time Olivia had seen Santa Claus. “
After Cardwell posted the movie clip on his social media channels, thousands of people shared their joy at his reaction.
Kerry Blair posted: “Oh, bless your little heart. This is so adorable “
Nicola Robertson said, “Oh my gosh, the excitement and magic of Santa. This is adorable. “
Elizabeth McLean added, “Aaaww she’s so cute.”
Gail McCallum posted: “It’s magical to see little ones believe.”
Helen Holt said, “That’s amazing.”
And Catherine Day added: “Absolutely beautiful!”
Cardwell has hosted a variety of holiday activities that are allowed by current coronavirus restrictions.
These include Breakfast with Santa events; a SELFie Land for family photos, whether in a scene from the North Pole, in Santa’s sleigh or in his big chair; a Santa Express train and Santa Claus showing up downtown to give everyone a warm but socially distanced welcome every weekend between noon and 4pm.
Cardwell’s Retail General Manager said: “Everyone here loves to see the video of Olivia seeing Santa.
“Despite all the pessimism of the past few months, Olivia has certainly put a smile on everyone’s face and shown us the magic of Christmas.”
