A yellow snow and ice weather advisory has been issued for Surrey and the Southeast, with “widespread ice” causing potential travel disruptions.
The advisory, issued on Sunday (December 27), covering the entire county and most of England, will run from midnight on Monday (December 28) until 6 p.m. that day.
A description on the Met Office website reads: “Rain can turn to snow, which, along with widespread ice, will lead to potential travel and utility disruptions.”

Some roads and railways are likely to be affected and longer travel times are expected. There may also be some patches of ice on some untreated roads, sidewalks, and bike lanes.
The Met Office says injuries can occur from “slips and falls on icy surfaces,” so residents should be especially careful.
The broader forecast reads: “An area of rain is likely to move south overnight on Sunday and Monday in parts of England and Wales. There is a chance this will turn to snow for a while.”
