A man has been filmed removing the covers of non-essential items in a Welsh supermarket.

The video was posted on the Facebook account of a man named Gwilym Owen.

The man in the video, who was not wearing a mask, is seen removing covers in a supermarket that are believed to have been placed on items that are no longer allowed to be sold.

This is part of the new fire lockout rules announced by the Welsh government that prevents supermarkets from selling items such as clothing and electrical items.

The man is heard yelling “since when is the clothing exempt?” and “shitty children’s clothes, it’s a shame.”

He was confronted by a staff member

The man said he was not ‘ashamed’ of what he had done

The man yelled and cursed the staff when they challenged him.

He said, “Since when is clothing not essential?”

He and the person filming were confronted by security personnel before the video ended.

The Facebook post read, “I don’t care what reaction this might get” and “I’m not ashamed of what I’ve done.”

The location of the store is not yet clear.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “Under new restrictions set by the Government of Wales, we are currently unable to sell ‘non-essential’ items in our stores. Our colleagues have worked hard to implement these measures, and we ask customers to respect these restrictions. “

North Wales Police have been contacted for comment.
