A man dies and an 11-year-old boy fights for his life after a truck crashes into a house

A driver died and a boy is fighting for his life after a garbage truck crashed into parked cars and a house today.
Several people were injured in the terror clash on a suburban street in Kidbrooke, southeast London, during the morning rush hour.
Police, firefighters, paramedics and an air ambulance arrived at the scene around 8 a.m.
Emergency crews confirmed that the truck driver died at the scene and that an 11-year-old boy is in a “life-threatening” condition.
The truck is believed to have collided with several cars before hitting a house.
Police were called to Kidbrooke, southeast London, around 8am this morning to receive reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles and a building.
The young man was taken to the hospital by air ambulance.
The London Fire Brigade said a truck appeared to have collided with two cars and collided with a house, causing structural damage to the building.
Station commander Nathan Hobson said: “Specialized urban search and rescue teams attended the scene and efforts were made to free the driver from the truck, but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
The London Ambulance Service treated three other patients. One was taken to a major trauma center, another was taken to hospital, and another was discharged.
A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: ‘An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital. His status has been assessed as life threatening. Two men were taken to the hospital. We await an update on your condition.
Sadly, a man has been pronounced dead at the scene. Work is under way to locate his closest relatives. There are road closures and the public is being asked to avoid the area. ‘
