Piers revealed this weekend that he was undergoing a Covid-19 test on the advice of his doctor after suffering from mild symptoms and turned out to be negative yesterday.

The 55-year-old man qualified to access a coronavirus test, as his role as a journalist makes him a key worker, but it is not known if he had one through the NHS or if he paid for a private test.
However, he was forced to tackle criticism on Twitter this morning after losing his presentation space on Good Morning Britain for the second day.
Some questioned her essential worker status amid the pandemic, as one person tweeted to Piers: “Essential worker ???? My daughter is a nurse, she is an essential worker.”
And he replied: “His daughter is an infinitely more essential worker than me. She was not drawing equivalence, she was only explaining that the Government designated all the journalists and radio stations that covered the coronavirus crisis as essential workers as well, so we can do a test if we show symptoms. “
Another fan commented under her tweet: “So you’re justifying you getting an exam, but 2 weeks ago you questioned why the royal family was getting ahead of the nurses.”
The dispute came after UK coronavirus testing fell from 120,000 a day on Friday to 76,000 yesterday, with Michael Gove admitting that the government had failed to meet its target of 100,000 coronavirus tests per day.
Lord Alan Sugar previously rekindled his enmity with Pier by wondering why he could be tested so quickly.
The 73-year-old trainee star said, “As it did @piersmorgan Get tested when so many front-line workers can’t.
“He would be singing from the rooftop if he were another celebrity.”
The coronavirus was officially considered a global pandemic in March, and has so far claimed the lives of more than 32,000 people.
Ben Shephard stepped in to present GMB alongside Piers regular co-host Susanna Reid again today.
Susanna shared Piers’ health update with viewers when the breakfast show started, and Dr. Hilary Jones also added her relief by saying the star will be “back before we know it.”
And last night, Piers told fans: “UPDATE: My COVID-19 test was negative.
“My doctor recommended that I do the test after developing possible coronavirus symptoms, and you had the right to do so as a government-appointed essential worker.
“I will return to @GMB as soon as my doctor tells me that I am okay to go back to work.”
