Codemasters has revealed some bad news for DiRT fans, but smoothed it out with what could be very good news. The publisher has taken to his official blog to announce that DiRT Rally 2.0 He is nearing the end of his final special stage, but that something new is on the way very soon.

Whats Next? Well, we are not exactly sure. The blog post is a bit cryptic, but it appears to be a new title related to the DiRT Rally series, but not part of it.
While the post references the future of the DiRT Rally series, it also says it won’t find out for a while. However, the new project is somewhat developed by a separate Codemasters studio for the team working on the DiRT Rally series, but also part of the “DiRT world”.
There are some possibilities of what could be. It can be a mobile title, which explains the need for a different study within Codemasters, or something less based on the scenario in the mold of Turn tires or SnowRunner (although more car-oriented). It can also be a successor of DiRT Showdown, the only title released outside the aforementioned two-year cycle.
Another possibility involves the lightning bolt emoji in the Tweet teaser. You can suggest something with electrified or electric powertrains, like something based on the Extreme E off-road racing series.
Whatever it is, Codemasters promises it will be “a whole new experience”, and we should hear more “very soon.”
