Britain will be hit by winds of over 50 mph and heavy rains before the return of the glorious spring sun and 23C.
The Meteorological Office forecasts a rapid change in the weather as the work week progresses, but next weekend a new front may upset things once again.
Heavy showers are expected to sweep south tonight, with gusts of winds peaking at 51 mph in Camborne.
The southern areas, as well as the Midlands, which suffered most of the heavy rains last week, will see about 30 mph for much of Tuesday, although temperatures will approach teenagers.

Wednesday is expected to see the best of sunlight and clear blue skies, with Britain generally well, stable and mostly dry as the temperature peaks.
On Thursday it will see highs of 21C before being surpassed on Friday at 23C, although rain is expected during the bank holiday.
Greg Dewhurst of the Meteorological Office said it would warm up as the week progresses, but that there was a risk of rain during the holidays.
“Friday appears to be a case of periods of scattered sunshine and rain, but we were able to see highs of 22-23 ° C,” he said.
“It will still be on the warm side but it will feel a bit more humid.”
“It seems that on Thursday we will see showers in the western parts, so in the east it will be dry with sunny periods, but in the west it will be a little more cloudy with the risk of some showers.
“The driest and sunniest day is probably Wednesday, although temperatures will not be as high as Thursday.
“On Wednesday we are seeing highs of 19C, possibly 20C, and then on Thursday it will be around 22-23C and similarly on Friday.”
But he warned that rains will occur and “longer periods of rain” will occur across the country next weekend and temperatures will drop to around 12 ° C on Sunday.
