Jamie Carragher has chosen his best Champions League XI as part of his latest ‘Carra Challenge’, where the selection is established based on a series of restrictions.
This time, the Liverpool legend chose his best Champions League team made up of players who have won the competition since the 1992/93 season, when the European Cup formally became the Champions League.
However, the rules make it much more complicated than simply choosing the best lineup.
This time, they stipulate that only one player can be chosen from each winning club.
Furthermore, any nationality can only be represented once, although a player may have played for more than one winning team.
Since 13 clubs have won Europe’s leading club competition since the 1992/93 season, two clubs were represented as substitutes and coaches for Carragher’s national teams, which he announced on Twitter.
